Today, I tip my hat to an old rival, Microsoft. By acquiring Skype, Microsoft becomes a much stronger player in mobile and the clear market leader in Internet voice and video communications. More importantly, Microsoft gets a team, lead by the exceptional Tony Bates that can compete with anyone.

Ete na, citatul e semnat de unul dintre cei care au beneficiat financiar cel mai mult din dealul asta. :-)
Horowitz e partener cu Andressen care impreuna cu Niklas si Friis au rascumparat de la Ebay cu 2.75. bn. Ultimii doi sunt fondatorii, cei care au vandut cu 4 la ebay acum 2 ani si acum au vandut la MSFT pentru 8.5. 6 miliarde in doi ani, not bad… insa compliments are free, considering it was just part from the sales pitch :-)

De cand s-a separat de eBay in 2009, era clar ca Skype asteapta oferta potrivita. Si iata ca a venit si chiar la o suma bunicica, mai mult nu cred ca aveau cum sa scoata.
